Great Northern Cafe in Park Rapids

Small town cafe, great food.

Good place to have a nice wholesome breakfast. They don't except cards here so make sure you have cash on you. They have a large selection of things to choose from, and they also have an all day breakfast menu. I've been going here since I was little. I'm glad they got rid of the smoking section in there. The only real downside is that they can be really busy at times.

They were busy as hell when our group stopped in and filled the only 3 tables available. Everyone was impressed with the good food wonderful service and reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back.

I go once a year when I come up for our boys weekend. Absolutely delicious! Just like always, we actually plan what day we will come for breakfast when we come up.

Breakfast was great - ate at a table outside - fast service. It rained last night so bench was damp, but so what, it was a picnic!

No waiting for a table. Even though place was at capacity the wait time was unchanged. Very fast service. Food is always excellent. Clean cafe. All staff wore masks. Staff is so friendly. Makes you feel like your in your neighbor's kitchen for breakfast.

Best breakfast in the Park Rapids area. A real old time restaurant where things are made from scratch and the staff actually cares about their customers. We always stop there when we are in the area. Be careful it can be very busy.

It was okay. Pancakes weren't the best. No juice or coffee. Service was a 2.

This place seems like it hasn't changed for 20 years. I mean that in a good way. Sit at the counter, a booth or a table. I've only been here for breakfast, but I bet the rest of the day is good too!

The service was quick and friendly. The breakfast food was delicious, we had both the skillet and the empire omelette. The French toast I had substituted for pancakes was the most amazing French toast I have ever had. Coffee was strong and everything tastes fresh. I will be back next time we are in town.

Ruthie was such a great waitress. Right when we came she did like a run to our table outside. And they were really busy today and she was working her butt off. She even made a joke about our McDonald’s coffee next time I come here I hope I have her as my waitress. ❤️

The place was very busy when we got there abt 9:30 in the morning... We waited for abt 20 minutes to get a table but, believe me, it was well worth the wait. The food was fantastic...😀

Delicious food; kind hearted service. Highly recommended. Absolutely worth the drive from Itasca State Park. The “End of the Line” dish was amazing. The Walleye was fresh and flakey.

Great food and GREAT service

A good ole cafe from days before. It's stuck in a time warp and that is what makes it perfect. Large portions of good food at reasonable prices! Staff is efficient and just friendly enough. You can get in and out of there in about the same time and price as you could eat crap fast food next door. Love this place. 4 stars because the interior is dated.....although that adds to the charm

Excellent breakfast! Even though they were extremely busy, they took our order right away and the food came quick. Generous portions and very friendly service. We will be back!

Cheap, quick and delicious

First time diners. Went in and got seated right away. Server was very attentive, got us beverages and took our orders in a very well paced process. Our "home cooked" meals came out within a very reasonable time and were all very tasty too! No credit cards payments accepted (cash or checks only). We will be back!!

Excellent place to eat. Flat bread french toast is the best french toast for miles around. All you can eat fish and shrimp on Friday nights. Boy this is a great restaurant.
